Public Sound Installation
Spring, 2014
Inspired by the sudden pause in the sound of rain when driving under a bridge during a rainstorm, the Asylum soundscape uses abstracted recordings collected on-site, snippets of song, and the sounds of pouring rain to create a world where the boundaries between real and imagined are no longer clear.
By Megan Katz and Marina Kelly
Supported by a BLINK Grant from the City of Madison
Read about it in the Wisconsin State Journal
The Asylum soundscape was installed in Madison, Wisconsin in the pedestrian underpass along the Yahara river at Tenney Park.
